Counter height at 35.5 inches

It stops at 35.5 inches, so the top works as a surface for a lamp, a tray or a plant. Width is 24 inches and depth is 11.5, which is about the footprint of a dining chair.

Low enough for small hands

Every cube is within a child's reach at this height. Books go in the open cubes, the sets with a hundred pieces go behind the doors. The handles are cut into the door panel, so there is no knob at head height.
