Six feet, nearly four across

6 ft of height against a 3.7 ft spread. That is a full profile rather than a slim one, so allow a floor circle of four feet. The stand is white, which suits a pale tree better than a black one would.

Gold film over PVC

The two circles show the construction: PVC foliage with tinsel film applied over it, in a champagne gold rather than a bright yellow. The manufacturer describes the colour as slow to fade and the film as non-flammable and odourless.

Blue and white on gold

The manufacturer's own styling puts cool blue and white against the warm gold, which is the pairing that works. Nothing in the photograph is included: the tree ships bare and unlit.

A warm metallic finish rather than a flat colour, using tinsel film over PVC.

Tinsel throws back the light already in the room instead of absorbing it.

Branches expand as each section is raised, so setup is quick.

Three parts plus the stand, which stores in a small space.

Folds flat when the tree comes down.

No fitted string, which suits a reflective tree since you choose the warmth.

A reflective tree gives back the light the room already has.

Champagne gold reads as deliberate rather than as a novelty.

Warm white deepens the gold; cool white cools it towards platinum.

What we stand behind

• Ornaments, lights and gifts in the photography are not included. This tree has no lights of its own.
• Height and spread come from the manufacturer's own dimension drawing.
• The store title does not mention the colour of this tree. Champagne gold is the manufacturer's own description and is shown in every photograph.
• Non-flammable and odourless are the manufacturer's claims for the tinsel film, not our testing.
• Ships from our United States warehouse, free shipping over $150, and 14 day returns unused in the original packaging.
• 14 day returns, unused and in the original packaging.

What colour is it exactly?

Champagne gold: a warm, soft metallic rather than a bright yellow gold. The store title leaves the colour out, which is why ours states it.

How many branch tips does it have?

The record does not publish a tip count for this listing and none is printed on the product graphics, so we are not going to estimate one. What is published is the height, the 3.7 ft spread and the three section hinged construction.

What lights should I put on it?

Warm white deepens the gold and cool white cools it. Whatever you choose, Health Canada advises looking for a CSA, cUL or cETL mark on the string and switching it off before bed.

Does tinsel shed?

The film is applied to the branch rather than sprayed on, so there is nothing loose to come away. Store it dry and avoid crushing the branches flat for months at a time.
